Postscript SMS Tracking Setup for Lead Attribution
As long as your Wicked Tracking script is on the page your Postscript popup appears, and on any pages that your Postscript SMS links send your prospects to, you are good to go.
Setting up UTMs with Postscript SMS Automations
Navigate to the Postscript Automation Page with the Shopify Postscript app. Choose your automation. In this case, we will use a very common SMS use case, sending a SMS to someone who abandoned cart.
Edit your existing message and insert a link. In our example, we are going to send someone a discount link that has abandoned cart.
In the shaded window where you are inputting the URL, you will want to put UTMs on this link to be able to know the precise SMS link that drives the sale.
In the example, I am using this link ->
http://WickedReports.com?utm_source=Postscript&utm_medium=sms&utm_campaign=abandoned-cart&utm_content=abandoned-cart-discount&utm_term=abandoned-cart
Your URL will obviously be different, but for an abandoned cart campaign offering a discount, I recommend the exact UTMs above.
If you do not have UTMs on your Postscript SMS links, Wicked will be able to detect the utm_source=Postscript, but nothing else.
Once finished, click to insert the link, review your campaign and send it. As your customers click on the link in the text message, Wicked will track these clicks to your campaigns!
