Introduction
This article explains how to set up Postscript SMS tracking in Wicked Reports to ensure lead attribution. By configuring UTMs correctly and directing users to a webpage with our tracking script, you can accurately measure SMS-driven conversions.
Postscript sets up UTMs automatically. However, if you want to edit those UTMs, follow the below process.
How to Set Edit Postscript UTMs
-
Navigate to your Postscript App
- Click on your Stores Name
- Select "Tracking"
- From there, you can edit your Global UTM Values
-
Once finished, press save.
As customers click the link in the text message and are directed to a website with the Wicked Reports tracking script, we will track these clicks to your campaigns.
How to View Postscript Results
-
Open Wicked Reports.
-
Go to the FunnelVision report.
-
Select or type "Postscript" into the Source filter field.
-
Run the report.
Wicked Reports tracks sales not only from immediate SMS clicks but also from leads captured via opt-in forms who later convert through other channels.
FAQ
What happens if I don't add my own UTMs to my Postscript SMS links?
Wicked Reports will still detect traffic from its default UTMs, but you won’t have visibility into your naming conventions.
Can Wicked Reports track sales from opt-ins that convert later on other channels?
Yes, Wicked Reports tracks multi-channel conversions, including leads captured via website opt-ins that later convert through different marketing efforts.
- Some legacy Postscript forms work with our tracking script while others may not. You'll need to check yours via our opt-in validation test.
- To get Postscript's new Pop-Up forms to track, you'll need to have a developer add our tracking script directly to the form itself.
