Introduction

When setting up or troubleshooting your Microsoft Ads data, it is important to confirm that you do not have tracking at the Campaign, or Ad Group level. Tracking at any of these lower levels will override your account-level settings and distort your reporting.

How does this impact data quality?
If you have tracking below the account level, your attribution in Wicked Reports will likely be inaccurate. You may see issues like:

  • Campaigns showing costs and clicks but no attributed leads or sales

  • Campaigns showing leads and sales but no costs

  • Campaigns attributed to the wrong channel

To avoid these problems, follow the steps below to verify that you do not have tracking below the account level and remove it if needed.

  1. In Microsoft Ads, go to Campaigns -> Settings.

  2. Click the Columns icon and choose Modify Columns.

  3. Add the columns Tracking Template, Custom Parameters, and Final URL Suffix. Click Apply.
