    What is Advanced Signal?

Advanced Signal helps Meta optimize toward the customers you actually want to acquire.

Wicked Reports knows whether a purchase came from a new customer or a repeat customer. Advanced Signal uses that information to send a more specific conversion signal back to Meta.

Instead of Meta learning only from:

    Purchase = Purchase

Advanced Signal can give Meta a cleaner signal for:

    New Customer Purchase

That gives Meta better information to use when the goal of your campaigns is new customer acquisition.

A simple way to think about it:

Wicked identifies your true new customers. Advanced Signal helps Meta learn from them.

What problem does Advanced Signal solve?

Meta is very good at finding people likely to purchase.

But if Meta is optimizing around a standard Purchase event, purchases from new and repeat customers can be mixed together.

That means Meta may find more people likely to buy without necessarily finding more new customers.

Advanced Signal helps align Meta’s optimization signal with the business outcome you actually care about.

Why new vs. repeat customers matter

A campaign can generate plenty of purchases and still struggle to grow your customer base.

    For example:

    • Meta reports strong purchase volume.
    • ROAS looks healthy.
    • But many purchases are coming from existing customers.
    • Your new customer acquisition cost remains higher than you want.

If your goal is acquisition, the more important question is:

How effectively is Meta acquiring actual new customers?

Advanced Signal gives Meta a conversion signal based on Wicked’s verified new-vs-repeat customer data so the algorithm can optimize toward that objective.

    How Advanced Signal works

    The process is simple:

    1. Wicked identifies whether the purchaser is new or repeat.
    2. Advanced Signal sends the appropriate conversion event to Meta through CAPI.
    3. Meta can optimize campaigns toward that more specific signal.

Advanced Signal does not change who Wicked considers a new customer. It uses the customer intelligence Wicked already has and makes that information available to Meta for optimization.

Is Advanced Signal a good fit?

Advanced Signal may be worth trying if:

    • Meta is an important new-customer acquisition channel for your business.
    • You care about new customer growth, not just total purchases.
    • Meta is generating purchases, but your new customer count or nCAC is not improving as expected.
    • You suspect Meta may be optimizing toward repeat buyers because they are easier to convert.
    • You want Meta’s optimization goal to align more closely with how you measure acquisition performance in Wicked.

For the strongest optimization results, approximately 50 new-customer conversions per week gives Meta a stronger signal to learn from.

This is not a technical requirement, but lower-volume accounts may take longer to learn.

What Advanced Signal does not do

It does not replace Wicked Reports attribution

Wicked remains the place to evaluate whether your marketing is actually acquiring new customers efficiently.

Advanced Signal uses that customer intelligence to improve the signal Meta receives.

It does not guarantee better performance

Advanced Signal gives Meta better information, but performance still depends on factors such as budget, creative, audience, offer, and conversion volume.

It does not simply mean more purchases

The goal is to help Meta optimize toward more of the right conversions when new-customer acquisition is the objective.
