Introduction

To automatically pull in Facebook Lead Ads, you need to ensure that the user, which is authorized with Wicked Reports, has the correct permissions in Facebook. Facebook may periodically change access settings and without the proper access, our system won't be able to retrieve lead data from your account. So, if you're seeing no leads associated with your lead ad, then this guide is for you.

This guide outlines the necessary Facebook permissions and how to verify them.

How to Verify Facebook Permissions

To ensure a seamless connection and data retrieval, confirm that the user authorized with Wicked Reports has the following permissions:

  1. Full Control to the Business Account
Note: If you have a personal ad account, you can skip this step.
    1. Go to Facebook Business Settings.
    2. Under Business Settings, navigate to Users > People
    3. Ensure that the integrated user has Full Control.
  2. Full Control to the Facebook Ad Account
    1. In Settings, go to Accounts > Ad Accounts.
    2. Select the ad account associated with your Lead Ads.
    3. Under People, verify that the integrated user role has Full Control.
  3. Full Control to the Facebook Page which Represents the Ad
    1. In Business Settings, navigate to Accounts > Pages.
    2. Select the Page linked to your Lead Ad.
    3. Under People, verify that the integrated user role has Full Control.
  4. Full Control to Lead Access on the Page
    1. In Business Settings, go to Integrations > Lead Access.

    2. Locate the Facebook Page associate with the Lead Ad.
    3. Ensure that the integrated user has Full Control and the leads is toggled to on.
Note: You might need to assign an asset to complete this step.

What's Next?

  • If you've had to update any of the users permissions, then you'll want to make sure you re-authorize your integration next. Then, check to ensure new lead submissions are flowing through your account.
  • If you have verified the user has correct permission yet you are still seeing no leads, then please reach out to our support team so that we can identify the cause.

If the integrated user consistently has issues, then it's our recommendation that you try to authorize with the primary Facebook Business Admin or primary Ad Account Holder, respectively.

FAQ

  • What happens if I don’t have the correct permissions?
Without the right access, our system won’t be able to pull in your leads, and you may experience errors in data syncing.
  • Does my integration stop working if permissions change?
Yes. If any permissions are removed or downgraded, data sync may be disrupted. It’s best to periodically check your permissions to ensure uninterrupted access.
  • How do I turn on Facebook Lead Ads?
Facebook Lead Ads is turned on automatically. If you have the correct permissions in your Facebook account, your Lead Ad leads will automatically be attributed to the correct Lead Ad campaign.
  • For my Facebook Lead Ad, why is Facebook showing a different number of "Leads" than Wicked Reports is showing?
This is an expected behavior. It's due to the differences in the way the two reports calculate what a "lead" is, which means these two metrics are incomparable.
    • In Wicked Reports, if we have already tracked the lead in our system, then the lead submission becomes subject to our re-opt-in logic. Our re-opt-in logic only credits the last re-opt-in that occurred on the same day, whereas Facebook is counting all opt-in submissions as a lead. This results in fewer leads being attributed to your Facebook Lead Ad campaign.
